St. Louis homeowners know their fences take a beating. The narrow alley-served lots behind brick two-family flats and 1920s bungalows mean short cedar runs between garages do the real work, and the freeze-thaw cycle that comes with Missouri winters heaves posts every season. St. Louis Fencing has been the call since 2011 when a fence needs to go up, come back, or stay put.
Whether your privacy fence is leaning, your gate is dragging off its hinges, or a storm brought down a whole section, we show up with crews who know the neighborhood, the code, and the craft. We work in St. Louis and the surrounding areas, and we've learned what holds and what doesn't on these tight lots and shifting ground.
Fencing for St. Louis (63101) and the Greater Area
St. Louis fencing is its own discipline. The housing stock, the lot geometry, and the soil conditions mean that a fence installed wrong won't last, and a fence repaired halfway won't hold. We install wood and vinyl privacy fences, chain link, ornamental metal, and gates on properties where access is tight, where setback rules are strict, and where the ground moves with the seasons. Our crews understand post spacing, concrete set versus tamped installation, board-on-board and side-by-side construction, racking and stepping for uneven terrain, and the hardware that keeps a gate square and self-closing.
We are AFA Member Installers (American Fence Association), fully insured, and we've been serving St. Louis and the St. Louis area since 2011. The same crews who estimate your job do the work.

How a Fence Job Works
We start with a free on-site assessment. You tell us what you need, we walk the fence line, check the existing posts and gates, and look at the site. We talk through material, height, setback, and local code. If you have a survey or deed restriction, bring it. We work from what you identify as your property line and will confirm that a Missouri 811 utility locate is done before we dig any post holes. That's the law, and it keeps everyone safe.
The work itself depends on what you're building. A new privacy fence means setting posts in concrete at proper spacing, hanging stringers and rails, and installing pickets or panels. Gate installation means bracing, hardware, and testing the swing. A repair might mean replacing a rotted post at the ground line, re-stretching chain link, resetting a gate on its hinges, or adding anti-sag bracing. We propose repair before replacement whenever the fence justifies it. On a narrow lot with garage access, we plan the work sequence so we don't block your driveway or your neighbor's.
We haul away old material and leave your property clean. You get a final walkthrough so you know what's been done and what the warranty covers.
Fence pricing in St. Louis depends on material, length, and site conditions. Wood and privacy fence runs from $27 per linear foot. Vinyl and PVC start at $38 per foot. Chain link is $16 per foot. Ornamental and aluminum metal fencing runs $42 per foot and up. A new gate installation starts at $495. Automatic and driveway gates begin at $2,900 and scale with the operator and controls you choose. Repair work, from a single post replacement to storm damage, starts at $475 for basic repairs and includes a free damage assessment. Fence removal and replacement is a separate bid based on length and material. Call us at (314) 668-1539 for a free estimate.
